About the judge:
Mrs. Irene Duplock:
My first OES was way back in 1971 going back to the
Dustville Line. I started showing and obviously it became a habit and a hobby!
I've have bred some lovely puppies including champions,
my recent one being Champion Mirene Love of my life, Eddie. I have awarded CC's
in the UK numerous times, after having done many Open shows to gain experience.
I do enjoy judging i also like to help newcomers to the breed, I am doing some
mentoring now since retiring from the show ring due to losing my wonderful
husband Geoff
who loved the dogs as much as me, I do miss showing but it has become very hard
to do everything on my own.
I have judged in many countries including Russia, Holland, France, Sweden, Italy
and Germany, Geoff and I attended numerous Euro shows not just watching but also
exhibiting,
always doing quite well. I drove to Hungary there and back and made my lovely
Girl Scarlett into a Hungarian Champion, Shaggy bluebobs Way to go with Mirene
UK and Hungarian Champion,
she is the mother of Eddie.
I enjoy viewing and judging all the different breeding in the different
countries and talking with exhibitors, We're never too old to learn!!
I have made some lovely people abroad over the years and I usually meet up with
some at Crufts. This year was my last time exhibiting at Crufts,
I have been exhibiting at Crufts since 1976 but I will be there helping friends.
I do have to say that when the horrible PCD gene reared it's ugly head, I was
one of the first if not the first in the UK to talk in Holland and tell people
that I had a litter with 1 positive puppy, my little Evie. I did show her and
despite all reports she lived until she was two and a half.
We must always be aware of any worrying problems, also recently her sister Colby
passed away at the age of 13 years young!
